Commends George Ferguson for 25 years of dedicated service as a state law enforcement officer and congratulates him upon his retirement in November 2022.

Ferguson began his career in 1998 as a criminal investigator with the Mississippi Gaming Commission, then moved to the Mississippi Office of the Attorney General in 2002 to work in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Ferguson rose through the ranks to achieve the position of Chief Investigator and aided in the recovery of hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraudulently obtained Medicaid payments through criminal prosecutions and civil settlements.

During his career, Ferguson conducted investigations leading to criminal convictions of Medicaid providers, provided training and education to healthcare workers and administrators, and worked with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of the Inspector General.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to George Ferguson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
