Notes the film office evolved into its current form within the Mississippi Development Authority in 1980, expanding its role in promoting Mississippi as a tourism and professional destination.

Documents that Mississippi film production has generated more than $575 million in direct expenditure and supported production of over 200 feature films, 29 television movies, 65 documentaries, 25 television series, and numerous other productions.

Highlights the Mississippi Motion Picture Incentive Program providing cash rebates for productions investing a minimum of $50,000 in Mississippi-based vendors, companies, and payroll.
