Amends Section 75-76-17 of the Mississippi Code to allow sworn law enforcement officers employed by the Mississippi Gaming Commission to retain one issued sidearm as personal property upon retirement.

Authorization applies to officers who retire for superannuation or disability under the Public Employees' Retirement System.

The retained sidearm must be one that was originally issued to the officer by the commission.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
