Receiving stolen property valued at $25,000 or more (but not a motor vehicle) becomes a felony with a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years and maximum of 20 years imprisonment.

Receiving a stolen motor vehicle carries a mandatory sentence of not less than 5 years but not exceeding 20 years imprisonment.

Minimum sentences imposed for stolen property exceeding $25,000 or for stolen motor vehicles cannot be reduced, suspended, or eligible for probation or parole before the minimum term expires.

Receiving stolen property valued between $5,000-$25,000 (non-motor vehicle) remains punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment; property valued $1,000-$5,000 remains punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment.

The bill takes effect July 1, 2023.
