Amends Section 97-37-3 of the Mississippi Code to broaden the use of proceeds from the sale of forfeited weapons by law enforcement agencies.

Allows forfeited weapons that are merchantable to be sold at auction to federally-licensed firearms dealers, with proceeds directed to the seizing law enforcement agency.

Changes the authorized use of sale proceeds from specifically purchasing bulletproof vests to purchasing general equipment for the seizing law enforcement agency.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
