Prohibits possession of firearms and certain weapons (bowie knives, switchblade knives, metallic knuckles, blackjacks, and firearm silencers) by persons convicted of misdemeanors with enhanced sentences under Sections 99-19-301 through 99-19-307, in addition to existing felony prohibitions.

Violation of the weapon possession prohibition is a felony punishable by a fine not to exceed $5,000, imprisonment for 1-10 years, or both.

Allows persons convicted of misdemeanors with enhanced sentences to apply to circuit court for a certificate of rehabilitation that would restore their right to possess weapons, if the court finds they have been rehabilitated and will not act dangerously.

Maintains existing provisions allowing felons to restore firearm rights through federal relief of disability, presidential pardon, or state certificate of rehabilitation.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
