Amends Section 37-19-7 of the Mississippi Code to add board certified occupational therapists to the list of employees eligible for an annual $6,000 salary supplement plus fringe benefits.

Occupational therapists must obtain certification from the National Board Certification of Occupational Therapy and be employed by a local school board or a state agency under the State Personnel Board.

Occupational therapists must submit documentation of certification to the State Department of Education by October 15 to receive the full supplement in the current school year, or by February 15 to receive a prorated supplement beginning the second term.

The salary supplement is in addition to regular compensation and other salary supplements, but employees may only receive one $6,000 supplement regardless of holding multiple qualifying national certifications.

The act takes effect July 1, 2023.
