Senate Bill 2353 Summary

• Increases maximum additional compensation for poll managers from $50 to $125 per election effective July 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023, then reduces to a base of $125 with up to $75 additional per election starting January 1, 2024.

• Raises compensation for poll managers who transport ballots and equipment from $10 to up to $25 per voting precinct, and increases returning officer compensation from $10 to up to $25 per precinct.

• Increases municipal additional compensation for poll workers from $50 to $75 per election and clarifies payment comes from municipal general fund rather than county fund.

• Raises maximum hourly compensation for poll managers attending required training from $12 to $20 per hour, and increases election commissioners' per diem from $100 to $110 per day.

• Takes effect July 1, 2023.
