Allows public school teachers who transfer between Mississippi school districts to carry over up to 5 days of unused personal leave to their new district.

Previously, teachers could only carry over unused personal leave if they remained in the same school district; this change permits transfer of up to 5 days upon moving to another public school district in Mississippi.

Unused personal leave in excess of 5 days continues to be forfeited when transferring to a new school district.

Applies to licensed employees and teacher assistants employed in Mississippi public school districts.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
