Increases the daily reimbursement rate for housing state offenders in county jails from $20.00 to $25.00 per day for the first 30 days of confinement.

Establishes an increased rate of $32.71 per day for offenders remaining in county jails beyond 30 days after the Department of Corrections receives the sentencing order or five days after written notice, whichever is earlier.

Makes the Department of Corrections responsible for all medical costs related to offenders housed in county jails under the expedited removal program.

Allows sheriffs or boards of supervisors from counties outside an offender's county of conviction to request housing of state inmates in their county jails.

Effective July 1, 2023.
