Extends Mississippi's compulsory school attendance law to kindergarten-age children (those who turn five years old on or before August 1).

Requires kindergarten-age children to attend licensed public, parochial, nonpublic, or legitimate homeschool kindergarten programs.

Changes the compulsory school attendance age eligibility date from September 1 to August 1 for both kindergarten and first grade enrollment.

Defines eligible kindergarten programs as those addressing cognitive, social, and emotional needs of five-year-old children.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
