MS SB2830

Amends Section 67-3-46, Mississippi Code of 1972, to expand the list of entities prohibited from having interest in alcohol wholesaler or distributor licenses, businesses, assets, or corporate stock.

Adds new category prohibiting manufacturers of products or substances infused into or becoming part of beer, light wine, or light spirit products from having such interests, including related companies, wholly-owned subsidiaries, and joint ventures.

Maintains existing prohibition on breweries, manufacturers of light wines or light spirit products, their officers/directors/agents/employees, and their affiliates from having any interest in wholesaler or distributor entities.

Permits only security interests granted under the Uniform Commercial Code for products sold to wholesalers or distributors until full purchase price is paid.

Effective date of July 1, 2023.
