MS SB2844

Removes requirement that state agencies receiving reassigned vehicles pay the previous agency or State General Fund the NADA wholesale value or auction price for the vehicle.

Authorizes the Bureau of Fleet Management to seize and dispose of vehicles found in violation of bureau rules if the violation is not corrected within five (5) days after notifying the agency head, Speaker of the House, and Lieutenant Governor.

Requires the Bureau of Fleet Management to submit annual reports to the Senate and House Appropriations Committees and Joint Legislative Budget Committee by September 1 detailing any irregularities found concerning state vehicle purchases.

Maintains existing duties of the Bureau of Fleet Management including holding vehicle titles, establishing usage rules, acquiring fleet management software, and requiring agencies to submit annual vehicle acquisition/use/disposal plans.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
