Senate Bill 2876 Summary

• Requires the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration to develop and operate a single searchable public website by January 1, 2024, listing all federal awards to Mississippi entities valued at $25,000 or more.

• Website must display entity name, award amount, funding agency, North American Industry Classification System code or Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number, award location, congressional district, and unique entity identifiers for each federal award.

• Public users must be able to search and aggregate federal funding by any required element, calculate total federal funding by entity and fiscal year, and download search result data.

• Entities with gross federal income under $300,000 in the previous tax year are exempt from subaward reporting requirements until the director determines the burden is manageable.

• Website must be updated within 30 days of any federal award, and the director must submit an annual implementation report to the Governor and Legislature beginning in fiscal year 2024.
