Hinds County Board of Supervisors is authorized to create two nonprofit organizations: one organized under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and one under Section 501(c)(6) for economic development projects throughout the county.

Each nonprofit organization's board of directors must include at least one member from each of the five supervisor districts in Hinds County.

Both nonprofits must comply with all rules and regulations from the Department of Revenue, Secretary of State, and Internal Revenue Service regarding nonprofit organization and operation.

Each nonprofit organization must cooperate, communicate with, and coordinate economic development efforts with municipalities in Hinds County including Byram, Clinton, Jackson, Bolton, Edwards, and Utica.

The authorization expires and is repealed on July 1, 2027.
