Billy C. Hudson, age 84, passed away on November 30, 2022, after serving as Forrest County Tax Collector, former Magee Alderman, former President of the Forrest County Board of Supervisors, and former Mississippi State Senator for District 45.

Hudson served as State Senator for 12 years beginning in 2007, and previously served as Forrest County District 5 Supervisor for two terms and as Board President for four years.

As State Senator, Hudson chaired the Agriculture Committee and served on County Affairs (Vice Chair), Environmental Protection, Finance, Highways and Transportation, Labor, Rules, and Universities and Colleges committees.

Hudson was a University of Southern Mississippi, University of Arizona, and Perkinston Junior College graduate who worked as a rancher and former CEO of Hudson Salvage before dedicating his retirement years to public service.

The Legislature extends sympathy to Hudson's surviving wife Barbara, three children, two stepsons, 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, and commends his commitment to leadership, sound judgment, and fairness in public service.
