Recognizes Dr. Tommy King's 60-year career at William Carey University, including 15 years as president, upon his retirement on July 26, 2022.

Acknowledges King's leadership in rebuilding the university's Gulf Coast campus after Hurricane Katrina, establishing the College of Osteopathic Medicine, and reconstructing the Hattiesburg campus after an EF-3 tornado in January 2017.

Commends King for overseeing student enrollment growth from 2,500 to over 5,200, establishing new schools including pharmacy and nursing programs, constructing a 67,000 square foot College of Health Sciences facility, and increasing residential students four-fold.

Recognizes King's community investments through the purchase of 141 properties, focus on campus museums, endowment growth, and commitment to religious life at the university.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Dr. King and his family, the Board of Trustees of William Carey University, and the Capitol Press Corps.
