Senator McDaniel is not seeking reelection and will pursue statewide office; he served four terms and chaired the Environmental Protection, Conservation and Water Resources Committee

McDaniel graduated cum laude from University of Mississippi School of Law in 1997, clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Charles W. Pickering, and became a law firm partner specializing in litigation and constitutional law

Named one of the top 50 lawyers in Mississippi by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2010 and "Citizen of the Year" by the Laurel Leader Call the same year

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to Senator McDaniel and made available to the Capitol Press Corps
