The Mississippi Senate extends recognition to Betsy Bradley for receiving the 2023 Governor's Arts Award for Leadership in Visual Arts and Community.

Bradley has served as Director of the Mississippi Museum of Art since 2001 and previously served as Executive Director of the Mississippi Arts Commission.

In 2016, she led the Mississippi Museum of Art to accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums' Accreditation Commission, an honor held by only 1,056 of 35,000 museums nationwide.

She established the CAPE (Center for Arts and Public Exchange) in 2017, funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, to bring artists and communities together to address social inequities.

Bradley led two capital campaigns that raised $20 million to renovate the museum space and create the Art Garden, the first new public green space in downtown Jackson since the 1970s.
