Senate Resolution 26 Summary

• Commends the 2022 Brookhaven High School boys and girls track and field teams for winning both MHSAA Class 5A State Championships on May 1, 2022, in Pearl, Mississippi.

• Girls' team scored 130.5 points to win the state title, finishing ahead of Hattiesburg High School (100 points); boys' team scored 149 points, far outpacing Columbus High School (70 points) in second place.

• Boys' team dominated distance events with Grayson Childress winning the 1600-meter race in 4:26, and the relay teams winning the 4x800 and 4x400 races.

• Girls' team achieved victory through strong performances in relay races, winning the 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 relays while placing second in the 4x100 relay.
