Commends Copiah-Lincoln Community College Head Coach Gwyn Young on achieving his 1,000th career basketball win on January 19, 2023, in a 74-62 victory over East Mississippi Community College.

Highlights Coach Young's 47-year tenure at Co-Lin beginning in 1975, during which he has won eight State Championships and taken his team to the NJCAA National Tournament six times.

Notes Coach Young is the winningest active coach in NJCAA basketball for both men's and women's programs and will become the winningest NJCAA Women's Basketball Coach of all-time upon reaching his 1,008th win.

Recognizes Coach Young's contributions to women's basketball development during the emergence of the sport in the 1970s and his impact on player recruitment and development across Mississippi and Louisiana.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Coach Young, Co-Lin President Dr. Jane Hulon-Sims, the Co-Lin Board of Trustees, the Mississippi Community College Board, and the Capitol Press Corps.
