Recognizes the historical connection between Mississippi and Ireland, noting that Irish immigration to the state increased significantly during the Great Famine (1845-1855), with nearly 4,000 Irish citizens residing in Mississippi by 1860.

Directs transmission of the resolution to the Northern Ireland Assembly, the Senate of Ireland, the American Irish State Legislators Caucus, Mississippi's Congressional Delegation, and the Capitol Press Corps.
