Marshall Academy "Patriots" Boys Baseball Team won their first MAIS 4A Varsity Baseball Championship in over 50 years on May 19, 2022, defeating Wayne Academy in a best-of-three series.

The 2022 championship season was dedicated to the memory of Head Coach Bruce Branch's daughter Janie, who died in a car accident and served as the team's inspiration with the motto "Janie Strong."

Lists 25 players on the championship roster along with Head Coach Bruce Branch and three assistant coaches (Jason Taylor, Tobe West, and Dustin Skelton).

Senate commends and congratulates the team, coaches, parents, and sponsors for bringing honor to Marshall Academy, their community, and Mississippi.

Resolution directs that copies be presented to Coach Branch and his family, forwarded to Marshall Academy's Headmaster and Board of Trustees, and provided to the Capitol Press Corps.
