Authorizes oyster catchers to print their own oyster tags in compliance with Department of Marine Resources procedures and regulations, in addition to tags issued by the department.

All oysters harvested in Mississippi must be tagged with the catcher's name, date and origin of catch, and shell stock dealer's name and permit number.

The department shall number and maintain records of all tags issued and retains discretion to adopt regulations regarding tagging of oysters and other shellfish.

Maintains existing license fees for oyster vessels ($50-$200 annually depending on vessel type and residency) and recreational oyster permits ($10 annually with a three-sack-per-week catch limit).

Effective July 1, 2024.
