Executive Director of Human Services may appoint a nonresident as county director of human services in cases of emergency or when no suitable county resident is available for the position.

Department of Human Services may enter into leases with county boards of supervisors for local office space to maximize availability of federal funds.

Fair market value for county-furnished buildings shall be determined through consultation between the Department and county board of supervisors, with the Department paying the federal share of rent to the county.

County boards of supervisors are responsible for all maintenance and repairs needed to keep local offices in adequate and habitable condition, as federal funds cannot be used for real property improvements.

Effective date is July 1, 2024.
