MS HB1069

Requires pharmacists to dispense prescribed drugs to patients unless the prescription violates state or federal law, could cause harmful drug interactions, the drug is out of stock, or dispensing violates the pharmacist's conscience under Section 41-107-5.

Prohibits the State Board of Medical Licensure from preventing physicians from prescribing any drug or medicine approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Prohibits the Mississippi Board of Nursing from preventing advance practice registered nurses from prescribing any FDA-approved drug or medicine that the nurse is authorized to prescribe under their collaborative agreement with a physician.

Makes technical edits to existing pharmacy emergency dispensing provisions in Section 73-21-115, Mississippi Code of 1972.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
