HB 1106 Summary

• Adds occupational therapists and school psychologists to the list of school employees eligible for an annual $6,000 salary supplement if they hold national board certification (Occupational Therapist Registered and Nationally Certified School Psychologist respectively).

• Requires certified occupational therapists and school psychologists to submit documentation to the State Department of Education by October 15 each year to receive the full supplement, or by February 15 to receive a prorated supplement for the second term.

• Makes the school psychologist supplement retroactive to July 1, 2023, for eligible individuals employed by local school boards during the 2022-2023 school year.

• Extends the existing $500 per component reimbursement (up to four components) for certification costs to occupational therapists and school psychologists, matching benefits provided to other certified school personnel.

• Takes effect July 1, 2024.
