Prohibits health benefit plans from requiring step therapy or fail-first protocols before covering FDA-approved prescription drugs for treating advanced, metastatic cancer and associated conditions.

Applies only to drugs that are consistent with best practices, supported by peer-reviewed evidence-based literature, and FDA-approved for treating advanced metastatic cancer or related symptoms.

Amends Section 83-9-36 to clarify that Section 1 provisions supersede existing step therapy rules when there is a conflict regarding advanced metastatic cancer treatments.

Takes effect July 1, 2024, and automatically repeals on June 30, 2026.
