Airport Parkway Commission authorized to conduct a feasibility study on establishing safe, reliable, and cost-effective bus, rail, and light rail transit services between downtown Jackson (Hinds County) and Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (Rankin County).

Study must examine federal revenues and state matching funds available for transit services, conduct cost-benefit analysis of service provision, and calculate approximate annual funding required to serve the designated areas.

Commission shall identify examples of public transportation systems in Mississippi and other states, assess employer benefits from employee transit access, and provide recommendations for increasing federal and state funding.

State departments, divisions, boards, bureaus, committees, and agencies required to provide facilities, assistance, information, and data requested by the commission to support the study.

Commission must report findings and recommendations to the 2024 Regular Session of the Legislature; act effective July 1, 2024.
