MS HB1214

Creates a Joint Legislative Study Committee on Blockchain, Digital Assets, and Cryptocurrency consisting of three Senate Finance Committee members, three House Banking and Financial Services Committee members, the chairs of both committees (serving as co-chairs), and officials from the Secretary of State's office, Attorney General's office, and Department of Banking and Consumer Finance.

Committee members shall be appointed within 30 days of the act becoming effective and shall serve without compensation, though they may receive reimbursement for mileage and actual expenses.

Committee shall study conditions, needs, issues, problems, and solutions related to blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital assets in Mississippi and recommend necessary or appropriate action or legislation.

Committee must adopt any findings and recommendations by majority vote of a quorum and file approved reports with the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives prior to dissolution; meeting minutes may be filed if no report is adopted.

Committee shall dissolve on June 30, 2025.
