Amends Section 73-9-7 of Mississippi Code to change how the state-at-large dentist position on the State Board of Dental Examiners is appointed, requiring the Governor to select from a list of three nominees provided by the Mississippi Dental Society.

The three nominees must be the members who received the highest number of votes in a statewide ballot conducted by the board, with licensed Mississippi Dental Society members able to vote for the state-at-large position or one of six district positions, but not both.

Requires the Mississippi Dental Society to conduct annual polls of licensed dentists to prepare updated lists of three nominees for the state-at-large position, which are submitted to the board and then to the Governor.

In case of a tie vote, all members receiving tied votes shall be included on the nomination list even if it exceeds three names.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
