MS HB1304

Requires the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce to adopt rules allowing grain producers to have their grain graded by an official inspector when submitted for sale at elevators or grain dealers, with producers paying the grading costs.

Directs the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce to adopt grain sampling and grading standards consistent with standards developed by the United States Department of Agriculture.

Authorizes the department to certify grain dealers that employ grain samplers and graders, as well as courses of instruction in grain sampling and grading methods.

Requires the department to issue certificates to grain dealers who conduct satisfactory instruction courses in sampling and grading grain.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
