Amends Section 97-37-7 to authorize employees of the Secretary of State who are authorized by the Secretary of State to perform investigative or regulatory enforcement functions to carry firearms while engaged in their duties.

Requires employees authorized to carry firearms under this provision to complete a weapons training course approved by the Board of Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training before carrying a weapon.

Brings forward Section 45-9-101 regarding concealed pistol and stun gun licenses for potential future amendments, with no changes made to that section in this bill.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
