Allows retired attorneys to correct scrivener's errors in documents affecting real property title, provided they were in good standing and licensed when the original document was recorded.

Permits affidavits of scrivener's error to be filed by attorneys stating either that they are currently licensed and in good standing, or that they were in good standing when the document was recorded and are now retired from practice.

Maintains requirement that affidavits of scrivener's error must be executed, acknowledged, and verified before a notarial officer, and must include the attorney's name, bar number, and identification of the instrument containing the clerical error.

Voids any affidavit of scrivener's error that is not executed by an attorney licensed to practice law in Mississippi and who prepared a document in the chain of title to the subject real property, regardless of recording date.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
