Authorizes sheriffs in any county to establish a work release program, expanding eligibility beyond the original three counties (Rankin, Harrison, and Lee).

Removes the 25-person limit on program participation, allowing unlimited numbers of offenders to participate simultaneously.

Excludes individuals sentenced for crimes listed in Section 97-3-2 from program eligibility.

Requires sheriffs to collect and submit semiannual data reports to the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER) and the Corrections and Criminal Justice Oversight Task Force detailing participant demographics, outcomes, earnings, and recidivism.

Extends the program's sunset date from July 1, 2024, to July 1, 2027, allowing the program to continue for three additional years.
