Expands the required radius for health care industry facilities to qualify as a health care industry zone from five miles to eight miles of a hospital facility or eligible university/college.

Allows Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) to certify areas as health care industry zones if located within three contiguous counties with 375+ acute care hospital beds or in a county with a $250 million hospital completed before July 1, 2017.

Requires health care industry facilities to be within eight-mile radius of either a facility with a hospital bed certificate of need or an accredited Southern Association of Colleges and Schools institution that awards health care/pharmaceutical degrees along or near Mississippi Highway 67 in a master planned community.

Maintains requirement that health care industry facilities engaging in certificate-of-need-required activities must comply with Section 41-7-191 for qualified business certification.

Effective July 1, 2024.
