Allows unemancipated minor children under age 18 to file suit for support in chancery court against their parent(s) or adoptive parent(s) in the county where the child resides.

Authorizes chancery court to issue a support order specifying weekly or other payment amounts if determined to be in the child's best interest, and may require bond or other guarantees to secure payments.

Permits court to designate payment recipient as custodial parent, a trustee, or the Mississippi Department of Human Services if the child or parents receive public assistance.

Allows court to require each parent to contribute proportionally to support based on their relative financial ability when both parents have separate incomes.

Support obligation terminates when the child turns 18, marries, joins military full-time, or is convicted and sentenced to incarceration extending past age 18; obligation suspends during any pre-age-18 incarceration.
