Trespassers who enter property without owner's knowledge or permission are not considered tenants and may be removed at any time by the property owner or agent without following eviction procedures or incurring liability.

Items belonging to trespassers on the property may be disposed of by the owner in any manner without liability.

Amends landlord-tenant law definitions to explicitly exclude trespassers from tenant protections, clarifying the chapter does not apply to persons who enter or remain on property without the owner's knowledge or permission.

Amends property law to state that adverse possession claims do not apply to persons who trespass or remain on another's property without the owner's knowledge, permission, agreement, or contract.

Effective date is July 1, 2024.
