Prohibits sheriffs, circuit and chancery clerks, county prosecuting attorneys, tax assessors, tax collectors, county surveyors, and county chief medical examiners from receiving additional compensation for separate employment compatible with their office duties.

Adds new restrictions to Mississippi Code sections governing compensation for six categories of elected county officials, requiring all compensation come from statutorily prescribed sources only.

Increases tax assessor and tax collector salaries effective January 1, 2024, with further increases scheduled for January 1, 2028, across all county valuation categories.

Maintains existing salary structures and supplements for sheriffs and other officials while adding the prohibition on outside compensation for compatible employment.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
