Prohibits possession of an open container of medical cannabis while operating a motor vehicle on a public street, in public places, on dispensary premises, or on public streets/sidewalks.

Defines "open container" as any opened package or vessel containing medical cannabis not in its originally sealed manufacturer's condition and readily accessible for consumption.

Establishes misdemeanor penalties of $100-$200 fines for violations; allows transport of manufacturer's sealed containers without location restrictions.

Brings forward Section 41-137-13 (Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act) and Section 63-11-30 (DUI laws) for potential amendment to address medical cannabis impairment in vehicle operation.

Effective date is July 1, 2024.
