MS HB1690

Amends Section 63-7-19 of the Mississippi Code to authorize fire vehicles and privately or department-owned vehicles used by volunteer fire departments receiving state funds to display red, white, and blue lights when responding to calls.

Allows fire vehicles and volunteer fire department vehicles to use blinking, rotating, or oscillating red lights to warn other vehicles to yield the right-of-way during emergency response.

Permits emergency response vehicles listed in the statute, including fire vehicles, to use alternating flashing headlights when responding to any emergency.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
