HB 1791 - Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Appropriation

• Appropriates $17,623,369.00 from the State General Fund and $83,838,244.00 from special funds for the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks for fiscal year 2025 (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025).

• Includes $5,750,000.00 from state excise taxes on gasoline, oil and petroleum products allocated to the Fisheries and Wildlife Fund.

• Authorizes 527 permanent positions and 53 time-limited positions within the department.

• Allocates specific funding for Chronic Wasting Disease detection ($400,000), LeFleur's Bluff State Park playground security ($75,000), and Youth Participation Initiative ($200,000).

• Appropriates $10,000,000.00 from Capital Expense Fund for park improvements, museum renovation, and road improvements at state parks, plus $8,100,000.00 from the Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund for awarded projects.
