HB 1879 Summary

• Exempts sales, leases, and other retail transfers of fixed-wing aircraft, engines, accessories, and spare parts from sales tax when sold to certified common carriers for transporting persons or property in interstate, intrastate, or foreign commerce

• Adds new paragraph (bbb) to Section 27-65-101 of Mississippi Code to establish this exemption as an industrial exemption under existing tax law

• Effective July 1, 2024

• Does not affect any tax claims, assessments, or appeals that accrued before the effective date
