Holds elected or appointed officials personally liable for all costs associated with a prosecution when malicious prosecution liability is found by a court

Requires disbarment from law practice (if applicable), removal or termination from employment, and suspension of retirement fund payments until all assessed costs are paid

Mandates that the governing authority or agency employing the official assess all prosecution costs and provide this information to the judge presiding over the malicious prosecution case

Requires the judge to issue an order requiring the official to pay all costs as determined by the employing authority or agency

Takes effect July 1, 2024
