Adds a new requirement that applicants for concealed carry licenses must provide proof of a mental health evaluation performed by a state-licensed psychiatrist showing no signs of mental illness.

The mental health evaluation must be completed no more than 12 months before the license application is submitted.

Applicants who fail to provide proof of the mental health evaluation meeting these requirements will be denied a concealed carry license.

Applies to all persons seeking licenses to carry concealed pistols, revolvers, or stun guns under Mississippi Code Section 45-9-101.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
