Removes the age restriction for expunction of misdemeanor convictions in municipal court under Section 21-23-7, Mississippi Code of 1972.

Allows persons convicted of misdemeanors in municipal court to expunge their records regardless of age, previously restricted to those convicted before age 23.

Maintains all other requirements for expunction including: prior notice to municipal prosecutor, demonstration of rehabilitation, good conduct for two years since last conviction, and showing that expunction serves the best interest of society.

Excludes traffic violations from expunction eligibility and does not affect confidential law enforcement records or driving records maintained under Title 63.

Effective date: July 1, 2024.
