Amends Section 45-3-21 of the Mississippi Code to authorize the Department of Public Safety to investigate deaths of elected or appointed public officials at state, county, municipal, or political subdivision levels when the official is killed or circumstances of death are questionable.

Extends investigative authority to deaths of former elected or appointed public officials under the same conditions regarding killed or questionable circumstances.

Names the new provisions the "Representative Ashley Henley Investigation Authority Act."

The Governor or Acting Governor must issue a proclamation to invoke these investigative powers, consistent with existing procedures for Department of Public Safety authority expansion.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
