Requires all secondhand mattresses sold in Mississippi to have a white cloth tag (minimum 6 square inches, visible on outside) securely attached before sale.

Tag must be indelibly printed in English with: description of fill materials, statement indicating the mattress or specific materials are secondhand, and original manufacture date (good-faith effort acceptable).

Establishes misdemeanor penalties for knowingly selling secondhand mattresses without proper tagging: $50 for first offense, $500 for second offense, $2,500 for third or subsequent offense.

Exempts private householder sales of personally-owned mattresses, sales by 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, and sales ordered by courts.

Effective July 1, 2024.
