Terminates Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) membership for members convicted of or pleading guilty/nolo contendere to felonies related to their state employment committed on or after July 1, 2024.

Members who retire and receive a retirement allowance after being charged with such a crime continue receiving benefits until convicted or guilty plea is final (including all appeals), at which point the allowance terminates.

Refunds accumulated contributions without interest to terminated members within 90 days of employer notification of conviction or plea.

Allows members terminated from PERS due to such conviction to continue participating in the State and School Employees Life and Health Insurance Plan under the same terms as retired employees.

Effective July 1, 2024.
