MS HB60

Authorizes issuance of a hardship driver's license to persons whose driver's license has been suspended for noncompliance with a court order for support.

Requires applicant to petition chancery court and prove by clear and convincing evidence that license suspension would hinder employment, with a recommendation letter from the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

Hardship license permits driving only to work and religious services and is valid for four years; cannot be used to operate commercial motor vehicles.

Establishes a $25.00 fee for hardship license issuance.

Amends Sections 63-1-5, 63-1-43, 63-1-47, 93-11-157, and 93-11-163 to incorporate hardship license provisions into existing driver's license law; effective July 1, 2024.
